Turin and the Langa

L'Italiano Porticando proposes for 2008 a language holiday course which will on the one hand present to the students the cultural and artistic attractions of Turin and on the other hand the beauty of the landscape of the Langa, with its wines and gastronomical specialities.

 

The course includes:

- 15 hours of language course;
- course book and documentation
- 6 nights w/ breakfast and half board in a 3*** hotel
  in the centre of Turin (double room with bath)
- welcome dinner in a typical piedmontese restaurant
  (w/o drinks)
- good-bye dinner in a typical piedmontese restaurant
  (w/o drinks)
- tour through Turin's historic town centre
- visit to the National Museum of Cinema and view of the city from the
  Mole Antonelliana
- excursion to Superga by rack-railway and visit of the Basilica of Superga
- full-day excursione to Racconigi and visit of the to the Castle of Italy's
  Royal Family and to its Park (lunch in a local "Osteria")
- full-day excursion to the striking hill-side of the Langa,  walk through the
  charming town centre of Alba, aperitif in a local wine cellar and lunch in a
  typical restaurant of the Langa
- entrances to museums and service card for public transportation
  (Turin Card 48 hours)
- bus transfers for all full-day excursions


Price:        Euro 1050,00

Levels:        ideally intermediates, however also possible for lower levels

The Langa and Turin

The entire course is located in a hotel or farmhouse about 30 km from Alba, immersed in the vineyards of the Langa. A part from the 15 hour language course, the students will visit small picturesque medieval villages and will learn about the gastronomical traditions of the region through cooking lessons and wine tastings of famous wines like the Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto ... The week will end with a visit to the historic town centre of Turin.

The course includes:

- 15 hours of language course;

  or 3*** hotel (double room with bath)
- welcome dinner in a typical piedmontese restaurant

- good-bye dinner in a typical piedmontese restaurant

- cooking workshop with dinner
- visit to the picturesque village of Barbaresco and wine tasting
  in a wine cellar in Barbaresco
- walk through Alba's historic town centre
- visit to the Castle of Serralunga, wine and cheese tasting
  in a local wine-cellar
- tour through the historic town centre of Turin
- bus transfers for the excursions in the Langa region and to Turin
